Family fun night! We went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Parker absolutely loved the little country dance routine the wait staff performed their jig. After our tummies were full, we headed to the theatre to take in the movie Arthur Christmas. Do you know how much sour skittles, a large pop and a bottled water runs these days? $13.78 in case you were wondering. It was a delightful evening out with my boys :)

Home day. Followed by a trip to Sam's Club to stock up on fruit, meat, and new socks for the boys. Jason and I had the privelidge of dining with some of his friends to surprise his brother, Josh, at Ciatti's for his 30th birthday! We had good conversation, good food, and lots of laughs! Love date nights.

Sugar cookie cut-out goodness. Yum. Thank you Pillsbury for making this available in box format so one need not make form scratch. Parker got a kick out of rolling the dough, prepping the surface with flour and cutting out the shapes. I'll have to put more cookie cutters on my list to stock up on throughout the year. We made do with a tree and a flower aka: snowflake. I love doing these holiday events with him. It sure does test my patience though :) ~~I'll upload a photo of our process this week (pics are on J's phone).~~

Wednesday. Nothing extra-ordinary about today. There are 18 days until Christmas. Parker is enjoying the Countdown to Christmas activity on the fridge. He peels back the days to reveal a cute little ornament on the tree. He has also sorted all of the presents under the tree into "piles" of who they belong to. He has a pile. With 4 presents. Jason has a pile. With 3 presents. Mommy has a pile. With 1 present.

Received this email from Parker's teacher today. What a great day!

And we were running late this morning - the car was parked outside (too much STUFF in the garage yet from moving, and it hasn't been too cold to need to be in there yet). After a good 10 minutes of letting the car warm up and scraping the windows, I dropped Parker off at school.

Went to a new class at the gym and it was awesome! Love the challenge of circuits and cardio.

At the dinner table tonight, I asked Parker about his day. He said "nothing". Then got up from the table, went into his bedroom, and came out with something behind his hands. And proceeded to say "mommy - this is for you, thanks alot". It was a tardy slip. Gulp. I.felt.terrible. Absolutely terrible. I apologized and asked him what happened. He said "I couldn't go to my classroom right away, I had to stop in the office. I told them we were late because we were letting the car warm up since it was so cold outside". I love him for being honest. I love him for just going with it. The unexcused tardy absence was a lesson for ME, not him.

So yeah - thanks alot, mommy.

December is here - yay! Love this time of year. And I'm documenting it. Here's the latest and greatest for these first few fabulous days:

12.01.11Caribou. The best way to start of any day. And the first day of the month seemed fitting to treat myself to a skim latte :)

I sent Parker into the living room/kitchen to make his breakfast choice. A moment later I hear him rustling in the cupboard, hear the microwave open and he asks "mommy - how many minutes do I need for my french toast sticks?" WHAT? Pause. Long pause. My little boy is making his own breakfast?! How sweet and cute. And incredibly smart this little dude is. We got out syrup (lots of it -- stuff tastes good that way) and he dunked those sticks so proudly. Love that he is figuring things out on his own. Ready or not, he's growing up fast.

Jason and I spent a good portion of the day (7 hours to be exact) at various stores doing our Christmas shopping.
Found this case at Best Buy and it made me giggle. Santa was scoping out the Kindle Fire's :)

Refuge Ball at The Waters Church! I hosted a table and sat with some fabulous ladies from our church and community. How lovely. It was delightful to engage in some girly conversation and get dressed up for the evening.

Giggles. Lots of giggles. We at dinner at the kitchen table. All 3 of us. I asked Parker to tell me one good thing about his day. He said "mini corn dogs for lunch". And then turned to J and asked him to tell me one good thing about his day. He said "I got to hang out with Springer (his best friend)". Followed by our yummy BBQ chicken and bacon with asparagus and texas toast supper (sidebar: do you know the first ingredient in BBQ sauce is high fructose corn syrup? I don't eat that stuff...its bad for you...just sayin) Parker got right to his sticker marker book reading and we snuggled up on the big chair in the living room. While the 2 of us were doing so, J disappeared. After P was done with his reading, he looked at me and said "Where did Jason go? Let's get him". So in true Parker fashion, we tip-toed down the hall and crawled through the closet to "sneak up" on Jason. And then proceeded to have a tickle war! And then we all sat around the island and ate ice cream. Yum. Parker: strawberries + blueberries. Jason: peanut butter + banana + chocolate. Me: Arctic Zero Cookes & Cream. I loved our night together. It was quality time well spent. Conversations at the dinner table. Reading. Tickling. Loving. It makes my heart smile :)

Yes...I know. I'm a bad blogger. It's one of those things that I like to "think" I have time for and keep updated. But let's face it people...I don't. So, for now. Enjoy the latest and greatest!

1. Parker had open house last night -- he starts 1st grade. FIRST GRADE PEOPLE! He has Mrs. Anderson, whom I think will teach him (and be very tactful and loving with his quirks and stubborness). We're looking forward to a great year!
2. My half marathon is in 9 days. SINGLE DIGITS!
3. Today is my Friday for the week. LOVE LONG WEEKENDS!
4. Dating is over-rated. ENOUGH SAID.
5. It's September 1st today. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?

Believe it or not, I learned a very important fact today. 2023. That's the year that Parker will graduate from High School. Not gonna lie, I had to stop what I was doing and process this. Only 12 more years to go mister man!!! He's got his first year almost complete and under his belt. Way to go buddy! You are going to ROCK 1st grade :)

And incorporating this into my everyday. Change isn't easy. Things do not change, we change. Only I can change my life, no one can do it for me. We do not change as we get older, we just become more clearly ourselves.

As I refect on the changes I've made and am making in my life, this really hits home. 4 months into this journey and I've learned alot of things. Not only about myself, but my life, my goals, my family, my future, and things that I can control. And the things that I cannot control...well, I pray about them. Because I don't have the answers. Or the timing. Or the energy to plan how things "might" or "could" or "should" work out.

So thats how I'm feeling. The things that I'm doing right now are so positive. I've finally got good work/life/balance. And for the first time in so many years. Its funny how you think things are OK when you know they really suck and you want to change them. But that was my old mindset. Back when I thought I could and should control things. Now, I just live.

And I live healthy. I live hopeful. I love Parker. I love life. I love that I am changing me. And for the first time in forever making time for ME. Has it been easy? Hell-to-the-NO. But by surrounding myself in a positive environment, with positive mentors and role models thats how I'm living. To do better. To want more. To push myself. To perservere.

Update on my 1/2 training:
I officially started my training schedule this week. I ran 5.11 miles today. Pretty sure I should have given my legs a bit more of a pep talk. Specifically my calves. They are burning. On fi-ah. And you know the best part? I went into my run knowing I could do it. And I did. By setting a goal. A realistic goal. And no matter whether I met it or not, I tried for that goal. And I met that goal. I finished in under 60 minutes. And next week, I will run 6 miles. And I will do it.

There are some days that I feel like walls are crashing down. Both in good ways and not so good ways. But its my choice on how I deal with the crashing :)

April was a busy month! We celebrated Parker's 6th Birthday! Had a great weekend in the cities with GK and Grammy +Papa. Oh the laughs and memories :)

And it was Easter. Parker got home on Sunday afternoon and found his basket. E.Bunny wasn't very good at hiding it this year. He asked me a TON of questions: "how did the bunny make it all the way up to our house?" "how did he know i wanted one of those UnderArmor zip up thingeys?" "you mean he came here even when i wasn't home?".

I've been running. And running. And running. And you know what? IT.FEELS.GREAT. I've decided on the race I'll run in -- Graniteman Half in Sauk Rapids. The big day is September 10th. There's no looking back now. There's a kids race on Friday the 9th, that I'm thinking about signing Parker up for.

Training has been awesome lately. I started taking a new shake and 2 weeks in has made me life a whole lot easier. And eating and cooking is actually something I enjoy now. I'm getting good practice and trying some new recipes. So far its been going great. I no longer dread going into the kitchen and making myself cook meals, I look forward to trying new things.

I've contemplated posting my "before" picture. For now, I think I'm going to keep it tucked away in a safe place. Maybe when I hit my goal weight I'll reveal. So far to date I'm down 30# and going strong. I'm down inches and a whole bunch of other things too...which I need to get from the gym THIS week. Shopping for new clothes is a love/hate relationship. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE shopping. But for the first time in, well, ever, I have cut back and am in survival mode with my wardrobe. I've filled 4 Rubbermaid totes of things that don't fit me. Its so weird, a good weird.

Progress, people. Progress. I'm making it :)

1/2 marathon training

Yep, you read it. I'm training for my first 1/2 marathon! Call me crazy :) I put this on my 2011 list of goals. With 4 months into the year, I've not only committed this to myself, but I've announced this to several family/friends/coworkers and my trainer so that I stay accountable. Yesterday I ran 4 miles. This was a personal first for me...ev-ah! And let me tell you, it was quite the accomplishment. My legs felt like jello when I was finished. I could have rung my shirt out with the amount of sweat on it. And if prompted with a question or asked to carry on a conversation, it would not have happened during my run. But you know what, it felt GREAT! After spraining my ankle at the end of February, I questioned my ability to get into a training pattern. With help from my trainer and runnersworld I was able to establish a schedule that I am comfortable and confident in. I will pre-train for the month of April. Then starting in May, I will begin my new routine. If you have any words of encouragement, I'd love it :) if you have any songs that keep you going, send them to me...I'd love to add them to my playlist! I know that I will have highs and lows, and I'm ready for it. There are a couple of races that I'm looking into, and haven't nailed down the one that I will run in just yet. So, for the next couple of weeks...I'll be running. And for the next few months...I'll be running :) ps: thanks to my friend Berta who reminded me that I need to be a better blogger ;-)

We are headed to the Water Park of America to celebrate Parker's 6th birthday this weekend! Can't wait for all the laughs + family time together! My sister and I have already giggled over how we think the weekend will pan out...with mom trying to mini-golf and dad going down the water slides :) I love our time together. I love my little Parker boy. I love that spring is here (well...sort of, aside from the SNOW we're supposed to get this weekend). I love that I am running again. I love that I am seeing results with my new healthy lifestyle. I love life right now. I'll post pictures next week :)

Can you believe it's February already? It's a short month...which means the end of winter is in sight and spring is on its way, yay!!!

Parker was sick w/ Influenza B the last week in January = NO FUN. After missing 4 days of school and spending time resting and recooping, I can happily report he's back in full swing and his normal self again.

The timing on his sickness was, well, no the greatest. I wrapped up my last week of work at Merrill and juggled/balanced training and saying "goodbye" to some great co-workers and lots of professional learning experiences. And on 01.28.2011 I jumped feet first into my new career at Creative Memories! I've got a week under my belt, and things are going FANTABULOUS! I've joined the Traditional Scrapbooking team as a Decorative Product Marketing Specialist. Life at my new job is: refreshing, positive, energetic, and FUN.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner :) It's my favorite holiday...and I need to get crack-a-lackin on my valentines! What's there not to enjoy about a day that is devoted to LOVE ...oh yeah, and gives me another excuse to buy excessive amounts of things that are PINK -- wink!

With the negative temps outside here in MN, it just calls for a snuggle party! And mister man and I are doing just that :) He woke up this mornin w/a fever of 101.8...poor little bugger.

We're watching movies, listening to Katy Perry (Parker's jamming to Peacock), building Bionicles, playing mexican train dominoes, and still haven't made it out of our jammies. Love love LOVE these kinds of days!

I'm feeling like a craft project today...will have to see what kind of supplies I have in my stash to try this project or this one.

Sounds kind of the like the Target commercial...hello, hello, hello, hellooooo! I know that you just sang the jingle in your head just like I did :)

Are you ready for the NEW YEAR?! Holy smokes, I know that the MN weather is really snowy and slushy, and it would be *really* nice to be somewhere warm and sunny with a cold iced drink w/ a little umbrella in it! Think warm thoughts! Only 3 (or so) more months of this uck and then yay! for spring weather! I'm already looking forward to painted toenails, tank tops and bermuda shorts!!!

As I look back and reflect on 2010:

Are you setting yourself some SMART goals this year? I've found that taking time to write down where I want to be and when I want to be there has really helped me provide a road map to guide me to get there. And...that knowledge is power!

3 days till christmas

Whoa...where did the time go? Parker kindly reminded me this morning "mommy, only 3 more days till Christmas". After I heard him say that I thought to myself, OH CRAP, have I crossed everything off my list? is all of my shopping done? what am I forgetting?

I missed the annual phone call from my dad this week where he says "hey Ab, I need you to go to such and such place and pick up such and such gift for such and such person". We actually got AHEAD of the game this year and did our shopping early! So, in the spirit of the season, I picked up the phone and called him this morning just to double check and make sure he really didn't need me to do any shopping for him :)

I was reminded in my conversation this morning w/ my dad that I am supported. loved. thankful. grounded.happy.healthy. I love that my dad is so laid back, easy going, and low-maintenance. I love that my mom is caring, full of love, and always has open arms for a hug. Through all of the "stuff" I've been through (and going through now) both of them just LISTEN. Love that about them!

We're gearing up for the trek to spend the holidays w/ family and couldn't be more excited to see GK+BB and Grammy + Papa!!!

Yes, I know its been ages since I've blogged. Sometimes...life just gets crazy and other more important things get in the way. Thanks for understanding (for those of you who check and still see that summer post up and NO update since then sorry!). With that said...I'm back!

Brrrr, it's cold outside! It's quite a change to have to bundle up mister man every morning. We're getting in to the "habit" of hats/gloves. Man, are all 5 year olds that stubborn or is it just mine?!

Anywho...been busy working on our Christmas card. Had the one below all ready to go (mind you - I spent a good 2 hours designing it), uploaded to Walgreens, went to pickup and come to find out they converted my file and it was REALLY poor quality. Thanks, Walgreens for stealing my thunder. Back to the drawing board. If you're fortunate to be on our list of recipients, look for yours to arrive sometime early next week :)

I'm going to Holly Ball this weekend with my girlfriend, Julie. I scored a cute LBD on clearence (love that!) at JCPennys last week that I'm looking forward to getting decked out in!

In other news, Parker's first report card came home & he is doing FABULOUS as a Kindergarten student! I'm so proud of him and his accomplishments. We need to work on listening/following directions + making good choices w/ freetime. Other than that, he had all "M's" (MASTERS) for the most part and is really excelling with his learning. Watch out next year, first grade!

One more thing, I've completely fallen in love with + adapted to a new healthier lifestyle. Tosca Reno is my hero. Stay tuned, I cannot WAIT to share my success with you!

We're very much looking forward to next week - well I am anyways! Santa has some wrapping to do...and a dolphin pillow pet to locate yet for a very special little boy.

We've been soaking up the summer sun! Parker loves his days at KIDSTOP and is really getting into the routine. He also started baseball...and kindly reminded me that the only thing he was missing from his outfit was the helmet + cleats :)

pre-school graduation

It's SO hard to believe that Parker is officially done with pre-school! There was a graduation ceremony tonight at New Horizons - caps, gowns, pomp & circumstance, programs, a slide show, songs and the whole 9 yards. It was FABULOUS!

Kels was on camera duty so I'll post pictures after I receive them. (ps - she is SO much better at 1-blogging and 2-pictures. that secretly makes me jealous).

We are truly going to miss the wonderful staff and friends. They have all stamped memories on our hearts that will last forever. Feeling so very thankful for Parker to have been surrounded with teachers that not only "teach" but also love and care so very much. There was...needless to say, tears of joy and sadness sreaming down my cheeks during the ceremony. So many emotions. Such a great last 5 years and a wonderful chapter in our lives.

We are already planning play dates this summer with Tommy + Olivia = Parker's BFF's. They too, will be a missing part of his day. But my wish for them is that they stay friends even though they are going separate ways to attend grade school. As I reflect on the future - I think about how cool it would be for the 3 of them to still be friends when they graduate high school. They would be able to say "we've known each other since we were 6 weeks old". Very special. I am going to make it a priority to keep those muskateers together :)

After the diplomas were received, football played on the playground, cupcakes + photos we went to DQ for a little treat. Yum - that ice cream tasted really good. The first cone that mom, dad, Kels, Parker and I enjoyed outside together. The only thing we were mising was Graham, Bodde and Berkley :)

I am so very thankful today for such a supporting, loving family. That word "family" has taken on such a new meaning now that I am a mom. Its so much more than I ever imagined. To my family (you know who you are) = THANK YOU.

5k

Did it! It felt GREAT. My offical time as 37:06. So proud of crossing the finish line. Parker was there to cheer me on :) Here are my results. My head looks funny in this photo.

It was so "different" running outside and having all of the people. There were approx. 1200 runners on the day. The encouragement and noise definately helped. The first part of the race was the most difficult for me - hill right off the bat. I only ended up walking up the hill, and then a stretch on the backside of the river. It felt pretty darn good.

There are a few races coming up in the area the next few months that I am going to sign up for. This running thing has me hooked!

My goal for next year on the Earth Day 5k is to run it in under 30 minutes. I surpassed my goal this year to finish under 40 min. Now the next year I just need to work on my SPEED.

Today was the day - I ran 3.1 miles! Totally going to feel it tomorrow :) But, what a great accomplishment!!! I will be sending in my registration for the Earth Day 5K at SCSU on 4/16...once it is mailed there is no turning back!

Parker and I had a "home" day that consisted of: trip to the gym, laundry, grocery shopping, games of Connect 4, making brownies, and jamming to some good tunes while picking up the house. I am beginning to enjoy weekends that have no real 'plan'...

The first payment for Kindergarten is due on Friday -- eek! It will be here before we know it. Parker reminded me again today that the thing he is most looking forward to is riding the bus. We were snuggling up in his bed reading some books tonight and having a conversation about our day. He read me 'Big Dog, Little Dog' from cover to cover. La, La, little dog. Big D-d-dog. He's recoginizing all of those letters and speaking the sounds they make. I have a feeling he will be quite the little reader. He DEFINATELY does not get that from his mama.

Daylight savings time, why must you take that precious hour of sleep from me?

Well...here we are, first day of March. I love thinking about warmer days ahead.

Parker is wonderful. I pulled out an old hat trick tonight on an infected finger of his: bread + milk. I was a terrible nail biter when I was little. My dad used to hook me up with one of his "remidies" of this sort. And the next morning those tender fingers would be all better. I guess its something with the yeast drawing out the infection. Anyways, dad - you'd be proud of me. Even though Grandma Esther doesn't remember this (it really is one of those things that will stay in our family)...she tought you well!

So about a month ago someone posted a REALLY annoying comment on my blog. Anonymous to boot. Just want to clear the air on this incident, becasue it really has not sat well with me. So, Anonymous person, this is for you:

Ok - moving on. I'm feeling a bit better, but not 100%.

Went to the dentist this afternoon - found out that I have 2 cavities, 2 wisdom teeth that need removing, and an implant that my dentist HIGHLY recommended I start saving up for. Ouch. On a brighter note, my teeth feel sparkly. I love that "clean" feeling I have when I leave the chair.

For all you Bachelor fans out there -- did anyone other than Jake like Vienna? Sheesh...

GK - hope your honeymoon is wonderful. So jealous you are where it is warm! Glad you are safe from the scares of the tsunami (had to look up the spelling of this word an read up on what this acually is...thanks for the history lesson, you 2 :])

Its late, the morning will be here before I know it. And the pitter patter of Parker's piggies will start my day off with smiles, as always!

What was supposed to be week 8 turned out to be a "maintain" week...I got the wind knocked out of me with a terrible cold. Talk about being run down, literally. But, I persisted and still made it to the gym 3x this week. Monday I'll get back on track :)

I'm happy to report that I've completed 2 of the 3 workouts for this week so far. Man, let me tell you running 5 minutes at a time is REALLY TOUGH! But, I managed to get through it :)

I didn't know how much I'd actually "like" training for this sort of thing, but so far it has really defined some key areas in my life: commitment, perseverance , and dedication. It's funny how I never really thought I'd be 'one of those' runners, but sadly...I have turned into one. For all of my fellow runners out there -- you know what I'm talking about!

We attended Kindergarten Round-up on Tuesday evening for Parker. MAN is it hard to get my head around him attending school full time already this fall. He will be attending Pine Meadow Elementary this fall and is *really* excited about it! We got to meet the principal, teachers, nurse, food director, transportation director, and get a tour of the building. And, Parker's favorite part of the whole experience was riding the school bus. He talked the entire time we were on our ride -- and pointed out to me how very fun it is going to be for him when he gets to ride it every day. I'm not certain why it's such a big deal - but think it is awfully cute that he enjoys it so far :)

There are a few more forms (+ the dreaded tuition payment) that need completed before he will be all set. PME offers looping - which essentially means that he would have the same teacher for Kindergarten AND 1st grade. I'm contemplating this decision.

Parker requested the movie: Night at the Museum for our Friday night snuggle party tomorrow -- I'm looking forward to it, as I always do!

Training for 5K...week 3

One of my goals this year is to run a 5K this spring. And, there's no time like the present! Parker and I re-joined Gold's Gym at the end of December and have been *faithful* about getting there 4-5 times during the week. I've started week 3 of my training...only 6 weeks left to go. It's pretty neat to think after tomorrow I'll be 1/3 of the way finished.

This week the schedule is:
Run 90 seconds
Walk 90 seconds
Run 3 minutes
Walk 3 minutes
REPEAT 2X

So far so good - I have to admit, I actually LIKE going to the gym and look FORWARD to it at the end of the day. It keeps me motivated.

Parker loves spending time at the Kids Club.

Last night I took the step class and wound up sweating like a pig. Loved it. What is it about sweat? I think its the sense of accomplishment that I enjoy the most :)

Parker has been busy baking + decorating the first few days of December. He is such a good little helper. And so paitent. We have a low-key week to soak up the brilliant beginning of this season. I love hearing the expression in his voice when we drive home at night and see the lights - he finds the good and fun in everything. Love that quality about Parker.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at New Horizons this past week and mmmmm, was it yummy! Much to my surprise, Parker *loves* cranberries. The plain ones in the can. Even asked for a second helping: :)

On the car ride home with Kels + Bodde to Spicer this weekend, I asked Parker to tell us what he was thankful for - here is what he said: "Umm...bumblebee, optimus prime, you and me, and graham and kelsey and bodde, and papa and grammy too." I love how simple his list is - including Transformers (which seem to be a said favorite the last few weeks) and his family. At 4.5 he "gets" it. For that I am forever greatful!

Pizza Picnic

Gotta love Little Caesars $5 pizza, especially when you don't feel like cooking! I've been feeling under the weather the past few days (doctor thinks I have mono, waiting for the test results to come back) so this was a great way for me to pick up supper tonight - QUICK!

It was pouring rain all day today. I worked from home. Parker had a great day at school. He told me he didn't get to finish the bracelet he was working on in the High 5 room for me. But reassured me that when he has free-time tomorrow he'll finish it up :)

So...to put a fun little twist on our supper tonight I told him on the way home that we were going to eat a "different" way tonight. The anticipation got to him -- until we arrived home and I told him to go get a blanket. Why, mommy? Becasue we're going to have a pizza picnic, buddy. Oh, that will be so awesome!

Here he is...had to line everything up for the photo and all. He took in 4 breadsticks and 2 slices of pizza. YUM :)

Apple Orchard

We went to the Collegeville Orchards today with our friends Melanie + Jared, and had a GREAT time! The boys loved everything there -- the animals, hay ride, and the pumpkin patch. Parker cut all of the pumpkins right off the vine and pulled them in the wagon. Jared was a bit indecisive about his pumpkin choice! These 2 boys are us mamas are such great friends :) We are so fortunate to have them live RIGHT next door to us!!!

Labor Day Weekend

Parker is so excited to have an extra "home day" ths weekend -- we are hanging out at home together. And not doing anything and loving it!

We put up the Halloween decor today -- and already have Parker's costume. He's been wearing it around the house alot. He told me to promise and keep it a secret what he is going to be.

We got some yummy sweet corn + watermelon at the Farmer's Market this afternoon. It sure made for a yummy supper :)

Tonight we are having snuggle party on the couch - one of Parker's all time favorite things to do! He picked out the Chronicles of Narnia movie and we are "snuggled" up on the couch and relaxing. He actually told me that he wanted to relax today - I had to ask him twice what he meant by that. It went something like "Mommy, how about if we just go in and do relaxing?". Too cute. Apparently I must say that alot? And we are doing alof of RELAXING this weekend. Love it. Love our time together. Love all of the conversations that we have together. Love my Parker boy!

Twins! + weekend at GK + 2 modeling auditions

We are taking Parker to his first ever Twins game on Friday night! We're going to catch the light rail into the game and have a blast. He's SO into baseball, and I know he's going to love being at the stadium. Gotta love getting in a game at the Metrodome before the new stadium is completed too...

This weekend we are spending with GK -- 5 whole days. Parker is going to flip! Five home days ... he will NOT believe it me (a coined phrase he uses often). We're heading in tonight and leaving Monday morning. That little bugger has 2 -- yes that's right folks -- modeling auditions.

Friday morning: Pearson textbook -- he gets to make funny faces!
Monday morning: Target Corp. -- fitting for a product TBD (we'll find out when we get there!)

July in REVIEW!

Where, oh where has the summer gone? We have been B-U-S-Y! Here's a recap of our July:

**July 1st -- play date with Oliva + Bailey, Parker's friends from New Horizon Academy. They loved the splash pad and soaked up the summer sun.

**July 4th -- soaked up the St. Joseph parade with our good friends Sophie + Jess. And spent the rest of the day at their family cabin out near Freeport. Parker loved eating the watermelon!

**Tuesdays in July -- were spent on the T-ball field. Parker *loved* playing! He's already asking me to sign him up for next year. The coaches caught on pretty quickly that he was good hitter, so they PURPOUSLY placed him up last to bat so he could "run" in the other kids on the bases. He recites this often: Hands together, Feet together, T, muscle arms up, step, turn and throw!

**July 13-15 -- I spent 4 days in Chicago for work. My travel partner, friend, and co-worker Jess and I had a really good time "being" together. I miss her now that she's not my cube neighbor and at a different location. I am *THANKFUL* for our friendship! We at at 2 awesome resturants: Heaven on Seven and Frontera...they were both YUMMY! I can't wait to go back soon and visit again. I love that city.

**Thursdays in July -- parker participated in Gymnastics at a small little studio in St. Cloud. He loved the bar! He's quite the little tumbler :)

**Sundays in July -- Sartell splash pad. Parker calls this the fountain one. He loves being a little fish in the water. And keeps asking when HE can do swimming lessons. Classes are full until next year, buddy.

**July30 -- Parker went on his first "official" photo shoot for Proctor + Gamble. Stay tuned for his appearence in an advertisement for Crest/Oral B!

We are beaming with excitement for Graham & Kellsey!!! Congrats to the newlyweds :) The wedding was a success -- slight delay due to rain, but nothing we couldn't handle. Were still gathering photos from the big day and will post once compiled. I'm so proud of my sister...not only for who she is, but who she is about to become. MRS. RUPPEL, love ya! And we couldn't be more proud to welcome Graham into our family. Love you too, buddy. In other news, Parker started T-ball and loves it. He hit a home run tonight. But, the coaches wouldn't let him run the bases. Gotta wait for the player in front of you to advance only one base at a time buddy. Next week, let's bat you last, boy! And he started Gymnastics. What a little tumbler he is. His favorite thin is the, bar...imagine that. He can do V-ups, swings, and the whole caboodle!!!

Parker is officially breaking in his brown sandals for the wedding. He asks to wear them to school every day - and follows up by saying "Mommy, I promise I won't wreck these for Kellsey's wedding. And I won't whine about it". Too stinkin cute!

Had WAY too much fun at the Bachelorette party. What a wonderful group of friends Kels has...you are all so beautiful and special in so many ways!!!

Growing

It's been TOO long since I've posted.

Parker loves to play outside - I'm getting really good at fielding the balls he hits :) He is signed up for T-Ball for 6 weeks in June and can't WAIT. He even asked me if he could be the first one to bat. I had to explain to him that the other kids will probably needa "tee"...he proceeded to tell me that he wants his coach to PITCH to him. No tee. Got it, buddy!

In other news, we went to a really neat studio in Minneapolis on Saturday morning: to get Parker's photos updated for modeling. They will be up on the Wehmann site in a few weeks ;)

I am hoping to get some photos posted - Parker keeps growing and growing and growing. He's grown so much in the last 7 months that his glasses are too small. His new ones are on order (small adult size frames I might add)...and of course they had to have "blue" on there. It's his favorite color, he tells me that daily.

We're counting the days for the GK wedding . It will be here before we know it!

We are so excited that Kels has received word that she is CANCER FREE!!!

We have been so BUSY lately. It's a good thing. But it reminds me that I need to take time every day and just "live".

Parker's birthday is on Monday. I feel like I have so much to do. But, I have Speed Racer presents for him and now that I think about it...that will pretty much BE the excitement for him!

He is writing his first AND last name at school now. We go tomorrow for pre-school screening. I'm confident he will do great. So hard to believe he's growing up so fast and is crossing the "school" bridge...where does the time go.

Parker and I both wore "green" to work/school today. And, I even got to go with my friend Melanie for a couple of hours tonight :) We went to this spot, right across the road from where we live. It was nice to catch up, our boys got to play...and when I got home Parker beamed with excitement as he said "Mommy - I had FUN tonight. Remember, sometimes you need mommy time, right?". Love that boy!

Here's a quick photo from the weekend - Kels & Parker making some muffins on Saturday morning. So cute! We had a great time. Kels & I spent almost 3 hours having lunch with our cousin Kelly. It was long overdue, and AMAZING to spend time together and be with family. Love you guys!

Graham took Parker to the Deer Classic while us girls were out having fun. He's such a trooper and goes along with WHATEVER he has to do - love that about you GR! And *thanks* again for taking the munchkin. From what Parker tells me - there were deer, 4-wheelers, and "I caught only one fish". I enjoy that these memories we are making will last a lifetime.

We spent the day on Sunday at home cleaning out the toy room. What a project! And spent some much needed time outside playing. I forget how "low" to the ground I have to get to play the hockey golie!

Notice the enhancement to my photo above? I'm dabbling into the digital world of scrapbooking a bit and absolutley love it - I think I am finding my passion :)

Finaly...we have it! It's been a *long* wait :) Parker and I made a trip to Best Buy tonight and are loving our new computer! This was the first site he asked to visit - and played Super Why. I sat next to him and was amazed at how he just zoomed around and knew where to go and what to press. And not to mention how AWESOME he is at his letters. Oh, big news: Parker writes his own name now! It's been a pretty big deal around here lately. He is growing up WAY too fast! He will be 4 in a month. Yikes!

We are going to the cities tomorrow night to have a sleepover at Graham + Kellsey's and then meet our cousin Kelly for lunch on Saturday. Parker and GR and going to do some quality bonding time while the girls meet up. I'm looking forward to it!

Hoping to post some new photos soon...now I really have NO excuse not to post more often because we have a new friend at our house. His name is Toshiba :)

Marching into spring :)

It's March - yipppee! Parker and I have been BUSY this week. He is working on the letter L at school. Dispite the meltdown yesterday morning to bring something for share day, we are both doing wonderful!!!

We are heading to the cities on Saturday morning for my cousin Kelly's baby shower. She is one of the cutest pregnant mommies I know :)

Kels + Graham are in sunny Cabo San Lucas - and I'm jealous! Although, I was promised a stay-home present (he he he). Can't wait for them to get home. We have a list of some things to get planned for the wedding - and I need to get going on the shower + bachelorette party.

I have fallen in love with a new website - as you will notice my new header and background. If you haven't checked it out already...you should! www.houseof3.com. It's absolutely AMAZING! These are by far 3 of my favorite artists in this industry. Now I have an excuse to do even more scrapbooking. Which by the way, I made a resolution to start posting more of my work. I need to get on that!

Spring is just around the corner! I ordered Parker his summer gear the other day - he'll be sporting Orange crocks this year and a handful of some super cute gear from Old Navy. Gotta love finding the deals!

...this woman is absolutely amazing! Meet Ms. Kim - the center director at New Horizons. She is what makes every minute of Parker's day fabulous. Just in the last week I have noticed that Parker has taken off with his writing. When we reflect on our day together, he talks about the letter of the week and "draws" it in the air for me. Perfectly, every single time. They concentrate on one letter, number, and theme each week. This week it was about the ocean and the letter O. I appreciate how much thought, effort, and time that the teachers in his room put into all of the activities that go on through the day/week. When Grammy asked Parker today what he has been doing at school he said "math + science, dramatic play, table toys, outside, cars + trucks, computer, library, and thats all". So stinkin cute!

Moving Parker back to New Horizons has been the **best** thing thus far. It's been 4 months already, where does the time go? The tuition is most definately an investment into his future and education. I'm thrilled that NH is such a great fit for us. Its so comforting for me to know that while I am at work that ALL of his needs are being met - mentally, physically, emotionally, and educationally.

I'm gearing up for spring/summer to come - so Parker can get to the much needed exploring outdoors. Looking at this photo reminds me of how dark he gets when the sun comes out...and how I love how cute he looks in shorts and his Crocs. Which, I need to get ordered so they are here in time for the season. Ahh - the warm weather can't come fast enough!

He spelt his name out loud to me in the car this morning. Our conversation went something like this:
M: Parker, it's share day at school today...are you excited about that?
P: Yeah, mommy, I am.
M: What letter are you working on?
P: Llll, mommy. It goes down and over.
M: Good job, buddy. Are you working on your handwriting with Ms. Katie?
P: Yep, she picks 2 wetters from my sheet.
M: Oh, Ms. Katie picks the 2 best letter "L's" that you can write for her?
P: Yes, mommy. I already told you that.
M: I know you did, I just like to hear about what you do at school, bud. Do you know what letters are in your name?
P: My name is P for Parker. P-(pause)-A-R-K-E-(pause - insert Mommy helping with the last letter R)-R!
M: Wow, buddy - that is AWESOME! You can spell you name - you are so smart in the Sunshine room.
P: Yep, I am. And pretty soon I am gonna be a Qwest kid. But not yet, I yike being a Sunshine :)

I gobbled up his goodness this morning...THIS is what makes being a mom so rewarding :)

Tommy's Birthday Party

Parker had a BLAST at Tommy's birthday party! The kiddos played and played - and boy, did he sure sleep good that night. Parker picked out a Speed Racer track to give to Tommy. He loved it. We spent 2 hours at Rainbow Play Systems in St. Cloud - after cake and whistles, it was time to go "home".

I met my friend Ali for coffee this morning and we talked the hour away! She is such a sweet, caring, patient, fashionable woman that I am proud to call my friend!

Parker & Grammy bundled up and went for a sled ride/walk outside in the snow. He's so cute with his winter gear - Spiderman boots and all!

We are going to church at 3:30 pm tonight and then opening a few presents. Parker tells me that he is getting excited!

Kels & Graham will be here on Friday morning - bright and early! Can't wait to spend time with them. We are making some holiday craft projects as well, look for pics of our handy work soon :)

December Updates

Whew...5 days until Christmas! Parker is beyond excited to open presents. He's going to leave carrots and oats for the reindeer. And cookies for Santa. He asked me what I had on my list when we were driving in the car last night and said "Santa is checking twice". So stinkin cute!

Parker had his Christmas program at school yesterday afternoon.

They sang 3 songs - he did a great job and was waving and smiling the whole time to me! We went to Subway (his choice) afterwards to have a sandwich and a cookie. A slight melt-down on sandwich#1 that got made. Note: he likes the mayonaise on the BOTTOM of the bread...the ham, pepperoni, salomi, and sprinkle cheese goes on the top.

We are in Spicer for the weekend - hoping not to get snowed in! We are going to see The Tale of Desperaux movie this afternoon. Can't wait to bring Parker to the theatre. He insisted that Grammy take him - and you know her, she gives in :) All in good nature though. She loves him so. He specifically said that he wanted to go to the movies with his family. What a boy - always including!

We wrapped some presents this morning. Note: Grammy you have all paper for boys, none for girls. We'll be re-stocking the supply at the after Christmas bargain sales. Love looking for the deals!

Parker also decided that he does not like hot chocolate - but posed for a cute picutre anyways!

2 days of work this week and then we are home bound for the Holidays. We are looking forward to spending time with our family. Love you guys.

Parker tells us that we have to wait to open our presents until it is Christmas time. He also loves looking for the lights at night-time...he tells me "Mommy - look for Christmas on your side". I love that he gets so excited at this time of year. I'm looking forward to the expression on his face when he opens his presents - fingers crossed that he'll enjoy all of his gifts. There are some Spidey things, a doctor kit, workbench, and games coming his way - he should be set for entertainment!

Merry Christmas from our home to yours. I still haven't received our cards yet - can't complain though for spending $6.13 (including tax and shipping) at Winkflash. I'm still working on the letter as well...I best be on my way to finish it up!

We love it when Auntie Kels is home with us! We spent the weekend making Christmas treats, singing the Hokey Pokey, watching Polar Express, going on a bear hunt (indoors + outdoors), shopping, making chalkboards, eating way too spicy chipotle chicken pizza, chopping down evergreen boughs, putting up Christmas decorations, watching Incredibles, hanging ornaments, and just being together. It was GREAT!

Parker even cooperated for a photo to use for the Christmas card...unbelievable! He smiled and everything. What a great boy. He has been asking so many questions, telling so many stories, and comes up with the cutest one liners we know. That boy makes me so happy to be his mama!

Wow. Where has the time gone!

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner at my mom & dads. My mom made a wonderful meal. Grandma brought a to die for salad. And auntie Dawn made this amazing apple dip. We played games and enjoyed each other's company. It was great! Parker got to play with is most favorite cousins. He had a blast.

Today we spent the day helping Grammy get the Christmas decorations out. We went for a walk after lunch time and managed to get some really cool red dogwood braches. I'm excited to put them together with some evergreens for a nice holiday arrangement.

I love this time of year. It is my favorite season.

I'm working on a December Daily album - found the inspiration on this site. I have the "guts" of my album started and can't wait to document the 25 days of December.

I need to get a list of the gifts that I have already purchased + a list of the ones that I still need to buy.

Parker is wonderful. He is back at New Horizons and loving it immensely. I can't believe how in 1 day he is "himself" again. Learning, growing, discovering, and most of all being challenged EVERY day. I'm thankful to be working back at Merrill and am enjoying my job. Wow, what a difference it makes to WANT to get up and go to work every day - and feel like I am making a difference and am putting my talents and abilities to good use.

We're waiting for Auntie Kels to get here! She's spending the rest of the weekend with us. We love being together. We'll miss Graham and Bodde...

Spidey

I was lucky I even got a picture in Parker's excitement for his Halloween costume this year (yes-I know I'm EXTREMELY late in posting these pics...sorry!). Needless to say, he was at his finest in full Spidey gear. Bonus: he had Spidey socks, undies, and slippers to match! One boy can NEVER have enough Spidey things.

We carved a pumpkin for the first time together. Parker wasn't a fan of the "gunk". And the tail on the cat fell off the next morning. Oh well :)

He forgot completely about whole bucket of candy he got. I was so proud of him when we went trick-or-treating. YES, Parker you must say 'thank you' at every house. Oh man, mommy - that's alot of times. I know buddy.

New Spectacles

Parker got his glasses last night! He looks like a little professor with them...and made sure that he got the pair that he can see the rainbow in (not sure what that means!). Today is his first full day of wear - we had several discussions leading up to the day he got them. He was FULL of questions last night. Can't stress the importance of how good it feels to be able to talk to him and see him comprehend/process things! It's a GREAT feeling :)

It's crazy how good it feels to meet someone for the first time and know that there is a purpose and timing for everything and everyone in your life. I am enjoying every minute of this beautiful Fall season!

I've started to think of the Holidays already...they will be here before we know it. Parker and I were doing some errands this weekend and I have *lots* of ideas floating around in my head for gift ideas! Now, it's just taking those ideas and putting them in motion!

Some exciting news...I am back at Merrill! Full time employee + benefits + daytime hours = happiness :) Week 2 started and it feels absolutely wonderful! THANK YOU to my friends and family (you know who you are!!!) who supported me the last 10 months. This change has done wonders - not only to my spirits, goals, confidence - but my checkbook as well!

We went trick-or-treating on Saturday at PineCone Marketplace. Parker got a whole bucket of candy. Come to think of it, he hasn't asked for one piece since we went...interesting! We ate lunch at Quiznos while watching the other kids come and go - saw some pretty neat costumes. And the Spiderman costume stayed on ALL day. Even for the afternoon nap, running of errands, supper, and movie before bed.

I have pictures to post! Forgot my camera cable at home to transfer them...so will do that this week :)

We are heading to the lake this weekend to relax and work on wedding projects!

Wow, it's been over a month since I made a blog post. Yikes! Things around here have been CRAZY...to say the least.

Parker and I had our eye exams this morning. And, we BOTH need glasses. We picked out some frames for Parker and he looks like quite the professor. I am thinking of ways that will be helpful in explaining + encouraging the full time wear of his new glasses.

We took a trip to the cities last weekend and spent with Graham & Kels. It was our annual trip to the Como Zoo. Such a fun time. Parker loved the animals more this year than last. Hearing the excitement in his voice and in his eyes was amazing. He's fascinated by the smallest things.

And...we got his Halloween costume. He is black Spiderman. He insisted on wearing it for 2 days in a row. Even slept in it. It is a hit! He's pumped up about it...and that it's Papa's birthday :)

We are heading to Ruttger's tomorrow to check out the place. And to get ideas flowing for the wedding next June. It's going to be here before we know it!

Am hoping to work on some pictures + albums this weekend. Maybe Sunday if I have time. Don't seem to have too much of that lately!

Oh - and this is my FAVORITE season. I love fall. YAY!

target + ki memories

We've had a busy week! I feel like I am finally getting into a "groove" at work. It has been a little differenet than I anticipated adjusting to the hours. But, I am loving what I do and thats important. Parker is content at daycare. I am fortunate to have found such a great place for him to attend.

In modeling news, Parker was asked to go on an audtion for Target Corp. this week. Had it not been for the short (1 day) notice, we would have gone...but had to pass up this time around because I couldn't pull off the planning, and taking time off from work without pay. I've never been one of those "on the fly" type of people when it comes to the at home schedule. I need to work on that and just GO with things.

Poor little man is battling a summer cold. We are spending the long weekend at the lake and he crashed at 6:30 tonight. I guess thats what happens when he refuses to take an afternoon nap in fear he might miss something. He just hasn't been "himself" all week. Am thinking there will be a visit to Dr. Patti next door in the next day or so. That woman just inspires me!

I've also decided to submit for the Design Search with KI Memories.. I'll post my pages and questionnaire next week. I am feeling super inspired to work on a new mini-album for a Parker's new cousin that was born last week. It seems like everyone is having babies...no, I am NOT getting any ideas.

Happy Labor Day weekend. We are going to fill ours with family :)

Back to school time

It's hard to believe that it is already back to school season. We did experiece the whole Target trip to get a new backpack - Batman, in fact. I was surprised that Parker chose it over Spiderman, his alltime favorite. I think it was the blue or something. But, it was all his choice and so far there have been no tears over it so that's a good thing!

I can't imagine how I will feel next year at this time, when Parker will actually be starting pre-school. One more year. My babe is growing up so fast and learning so many things. This week he surprised my by knowing how long "15 minutes" was...waiting for me to pick him up from daycare.

I'm feeling rather inspired after catching up on some of my favorite blogs this weekend! I NEED to get pictures printed and tackle some layouts for Parker's scrapbook. It's been too long.

Parker and I got to watch the Olympics for the first time this weekend. Currently, we don't have tv at home. It's one of those sacrifices, I guess. We get by with a movie every Monday night (compliments of Kels and the free RedBox code at McDonald's) and so far so good. Parker has actually been starting to tell me that we can take turns every other Monday to pick one out. That kid is all about including and making sure things are fair! I love it.

Anyways, the Olympics. Yes - that amazing race with Michael Phelps. You should have seen Parker cheering, jumping, hooting & hollering. It was priceless. He also followed up by telling us that he was going to be a swimmer some day. And today, he actually SWAM in the lake. Literally. He kicked his feet and moved his arms like a swimmer. We had some quality time with Patti, and she gobbled up every minute. It makes me thankful for good friends, a strong family bond, and appreciate the little things in life that mean so much.

Oh yes, and the fishing. Parker talks about it all week, up until the time he has his pole in hand and is on the dock reeling them in. I love the look of concentration in his eyes. We have such a good time *relaxing* when we are at the lake. Love spending time with Grammy & Papa.

Hello! Time for an update and the recent happenings in our lives.

Parker is adjusting well to his new daycare! He is making new friends in now time, like I knew he would . He still says he doesn't like going to daycare, but I have come to the conclusion that he will say this utnil he is AT LEAST 5 and goes to kindergarten. He's just too much of an "at home" kid...just like his mama!

My new job is going great :) I am seeing patients already and the days are going by so fast! I hope to test out of the first 2 levels of certification this week...and then onto the next rounds of training. It makes a world of a difference to have a job that is rewarding, satisfying, and that I feel is deserving. Wow.

We are heading to see Graham & Kels...by the way, they have a site up now too :) I can't get the link to work, so it is: www.grahamandkellsey.blogspot.com if you want to check it out! On Thursday afternoon we are going to run some errands with Kels, and then stay the night. I witnessed Parker's first meltdown and Bodde withdrawal the other night. Sobs, literally. On the phone with both Kels & Graham...that kid has the biggest attachment to that dog. But he's not just ANY dog...he's our Bodde!!!!!

Anyways, then we are off to Wisconsin for a long weekend! We are counting the days - really, on our 5 fingers - Parker knows that on the "ring finger" day we get to go see Graham, Kellsey, & Bodde. And on the "pinky finger" day we get to see Mark, Terri & the horsies. You should HEAR the excitement in his voice!!!

We are also gearing up for the family reunion in August. Aunt Evelyn is expecting over 100+ people...should be a great time!

It's a late post - I'm off to bed. We get to sleep in tomorrow morning, so I can get away with sneaking onto the computer at night. Which, by the way is one of Parker's new favorite things to do. He absolutely *LOVES* the www.starfall.com website to work on his letters. I'm trying to find some more educational sites to incorporate into his viewing...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

One last thing...I heard from Kenadi's mom (one of the other GAP winners) this week, and got goosebumps reading her email. Our internet is up and running (thanks to whoever in the neighborhood has an unsecured connection!). When I told Parker that I got a letter from her, he grinned from cheek to cheek...and then asked when we were going to see her :) Gotta love the curiosity of a 3 year old. There are some days when I wish he would understand the concept of time, and other days when I'm glad he can't comprehend.

Red, White & Blue

Wishing you all a splendid 4th of July!!! Parker and I are headed to Lake Florida at the end of the day. He has been carrying around his little Spiderman container with 2 bobbers and a little fish in it - asking me "can I go fishing with my papa now?". He also can't wait to swim, play in the sand, ride his bike & scooter (which Papa needs to do some fixing on...those darn training wheels), and spend time with friends & family. His cousins: Brandon, Sean, & Amanda will be over for a slumber party tonight - he has already told me who he wants to sleep by, Miss Amanda of course. He absolutely LOVES playing with the 3 of them, and it's a little "mini tradition" that they all get to stay overnight for the 4th of July. My mom adores having the 4 of them for the night...they're like our 4 little 4th of July cuties :) They get to stay up late, we play games, make yummy pancakes, and usually are entertained by Amanda's stories (she is quite the little talker and she cracks me up every time with how much she knows about things!). I don't know who has more fun at the sleepovers - the kids or the grown-ups?!!!

In other news, it is Parker's LAST day at New Horizons (*tear*)- I am extremely thankful for the friends and learning that he has done. Parker has attended the center since he was 6 weeks old...there were a few tears last night when I picked him up and I anticipate more today. Not of him - but this mom here. I can honestly say that this is one of the most challenging things I've been faced with as a parent thus far. I'm sure there will be more complex, different issues that evolve over the years, but in this very moment at this very point in our lives - this daycare switch is the hardest. We have so many GREAT memories of New Horizons! Praises and plauds to all of the wonderful teachers at NHA - everyone there is simply THE BEST!!!!! We hope to stay in touch with his 2 best friends, Tommy & Olivia. I sent my camera with him to school today, so hopefully we get a few good shots of the kiddos :)

I'm looking forward to attending the parade in Spicer on Friday with Parker. And on Saturday, I'm going to a wedding in Sartell with Karl. I don't like to talk much about "me" on this blog...but this is one amazing guy that I am happy to share about :)

Super Jump Weekend

Parker had his share of the Super Jumps this weekend! We took in the Sauk Rapids Food Fest, and many of the Granite City Parade and festivities. Parker LOVED the parade, and is still talking about it. He wanted to make sure we got a picture of "Old McDonald" and the "big backhoe". I'll have to make sure and get these in his scrapbook :) I was exhausted after all of the events, but it was well worth the excitement on Parker's face at the end of the day. River Bats game + Party Time Inflatables + PineCone Vision Center

Karl, Parker, and I went to the RiverBats game last night. Parker got a little anxious around the 6th inning - but he LOVED the bat :) He kept asking where the bat was and kept his eye on him the whole time. They even posed for a picture...isn't this CUTE?!!!!!

And...how's this for free advertising? I'm now an official shirt holder and walking ad Party Time Inflatables. This picture could definitely be put to use for some good promo stuff! Parker couldn't resist last night, and asked me to try it on AND take his pic. What a kid :)

And now, for the exciting news I can finally share with all of you! I've accepted a new job at PineCone Vision Center. I will be an Optemetric Technican and am really excited about this new opportunity. My first day is on July 8th and I couldn't be happier!!!

Little lake boy

So excited it's finally summer! Parker will be a little fish this summer. We are hoping to get to the lake NEXT weekend. It's crazy how things pop up on the calendar and make us so busy.

Parker has been such a good boy lately. He is a little jabber mouth. For those of you who know me, believe it or not - he talks more than ME! I know, hard to believe...but it's so true.

I'm waiting for some exciting news that I can hopefully share next week. Until then - have a great weekend and soak up some sun!

I had a great birthday - Parker made it extra special :) Here's a quick peek at the conversation we had on Wednesday night:

A: Parker, do you know what tomorrow is?

P: It's a school day, mama.

A: Yes, and it's also Mama's Happy Birthday!

P: No kidding...can you beyieve it?

A: Won't it be so special.

P: You are going to have a pink pwesent.

A: Really? What will be in my pink present?

P: We have to wait and see!

A: Ok. Is it pink?

P: Your pwesent is a pink monsto truck!

A: WOW - cool. How are you going to get that for mama?

P: Im gonna drive all by myself in da car to Tawget and get your pink monsto truck, mama.

A: I can't wait!

P: And then you can blow your candles.

A: Yes, will you help me?

P: Yep. We gotta wait though. And sing you Happy Birfday first.

So cute! We ate outside at Quizno's last night for supper, and then just went home to play in the driveway. No cake or cupcakes - maybe this weekend. We did have chocolate chip cookies though. Yummy. Parker sang me "Happy Birthday" last night before he went to bed. I had tears in my eyes :) He is the best present to me!!!

I have some photos from last weekend as well - when Aunie was at our house to visit! It was so windy they didn't even have to blow to get bubbles :)

Baseball Boy

We took in a softball game the other night. Parker *loves* watching. And looks forward to the time he can spend ON the field after the games are done to play ball. He's quite the hitter already. We have started playing when we are at home now, and he runs around the bases and everything. What a riot to watch! No sliding yet...thank goodness. I'm not ready for those grass stains quite yet. I know that they will be appearing on his knees soon though.

It's official - Kels & Graham have the date set for the wedding next June at Ruttgers. Stay tuned for more details :)

Parker and I will have the honor of being in their wedding party - yay! I will be standing with tears and tissues right next to my sister on the big day as her Maid of Honor. *SO* excited! And little Parker will be dressed in his tuxedo and have the big job of ring bearer. He talks about the wedding:
P: Where is married, mama?
M: Well, Parker...auntie Kels and Graham are GETTING married
P: Oh.
M: We get to go and have fun at a BIG party for Graham & Kels...
P: And Bodde too?
M: Sorry, buddy. Bodde has to stay home.
He's ALWAYS got that dog's best interest at hand. Love that the 2 of them are {connected} in a special way.

We had a FABULOUS weekend celebrating Parker's birthday. As you can tell, we all enjoyed the outdoors, the Water Park, and just *being* together. We are so lucky to have such a loving family. I'm delighted that we can share these special times together and make lasting memories.
